Anti aging skin care in a hurry
You know very well what you should be doing every single day and you may start the week with the best of intentions but sometimes the pace of modern life just takes over.
So what is the minimum daily anti aging skin care regimen that you can get away with?
All dermatologists agree nowadays that you should be doing four things on a regular basis for effective anti aging skin care – cleanse, tone, moisturize and exfoliate.
The first three you should be doing twice a day – the fourth you can do twice a week.
No matter how much you want that younger looking skin, there are times – let’s be realistic – when you can’t do it all.
Much better to cut down on parts of your regular skin care regimen than to just abandon it completely.
Here’s some tips on how to do that without missing what really matters.
A great way of shortening your skin care regimen is to buy some cleansing wipes and use them when you don’t have the time or are too tired to use your normal cleanser and toner.
Cleansing wipes are wonderful time savers to rid your skin of all your make up – particularly in the evening after a long day when what you most want to do is fall into bed.
Cleansing wipes now come formulated for your skin type with added anti aging ingredients. Try Jemma Kidd Cleansing Wipes full of antioxidants like green tea to tone and sweet almond extract to leave skin moisturized. They work on even the most stubborn make up and are extremely gentle for use around the eyes.
If you use a wipe like the Jemma Kid cleansing Wipes you can pass on the toning stage and move straight to your normal serum and moisturizer. Then that’s it – you’re ready for bed in just a few minutes – and you still took all your make up off!
On the nights when you’re not so tired – do the full cleanse and tone and add the exfoliation step to your skin care regimen. Exfoliation is important for anti aging skin care as it sloughs off the dead skin cells and lets the anti aging ingredients in your serum and moisturizer penetrate deeper into the dermis.
Try Philosophy’s wonderful Microdelivery Peel Kit or Tracie Martyn’s Enzyme Exfoliant – both excellent for smooth, radiant skin.
Finish with a gentle toner to close the pores – June Jacobs Elastin Collagen Toner is fabulous – and follow with a good all round anti aging cream like Philosophy Hope in a Jar or Oprah’s favorite Freeze 24/7 Double Scoop Intensive Anti Aging Moisturizer.
On weekday mornings when you’re having trouble getting out the door in time – just use your toner to freshen your face. Go straight to serum and moisturizer before applying your make up.
This shorter version of cleanse and tone is probably a couple of minutes at most. Even the most time challenged amongst us can manage that.
A regular anti aging skin care regimen is essential for younger looking skin as you get older. Cut corners when you’re short of time or very tired – but don’t let it go completely.
